Outstanding Student in Women's Studies

Melinda McKew Each year, the Women's Studies Program solicits instructors' nominations for students who have demonstrated themselves to be superior in their endeavors in the area of Women's Studies, which includes all aspects of the study of women, such as gender, family, or other subjects in which women play a large role. The Outstanding Student in Women's Studies Award is granted to a student who has approached her or his work with seriousness and creativity. This student will have demonstrated high achievement not only in everyday classroom performance, but also in a project or paper of substance. Students nominated for the award also prepare a brief reflective statement in which they describe how the process of creating the project or paper affected their understanding of Women's Studies. Students receive this award at the university-wide Honors Convocation in March.
