Triota Honor Society
Augusta State University is home to the Beta Theta chapter of Iota Iota Iota, an academic honor society dedicated to highlighting student success and academic achievement in Women's and Gender Studies and feminist scholarship. Iota Iota Iota, or Triota, is named for the ancient goddesses Ianna, Ishtar, and Isis, and the honorary society seeks to encourage and support students to engage and cultivate excellent in Women's Studies.
Triota strives to maintain feminist values central to the field of Women's Studies: egalitarianism, inclusiveness and the celebration of the diversity of the human experience.
Triota is currently functioning as a national coalition of student clubs organized and recognized at the institutional level. Current chapters are located at over 100 colleges and universities in the United States and Canada. The Alpha chapter was started at Metropolitan State College of Denver and inducted its first honorees in 1992.
