Program Director: Logan Wheeler

A native of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Logan Wheeler earned her MA in English from the University of Montevallo where she wrote a thesis titled Policies, Practices, and Perceptions: A Handbook for the New Writing Center Director. She has been involved in Writing Center work since 2007.

Meg Borquez Meaghan (Meg) Borquez fights lions and bears as she simultaneously saves small children from burning buildings--or at least she does in her dreams. In reality, she is currently a junior at ASU and is working toward a double major in French and history. When she is not tied down with schoolwork, she spends her days relaxing with her husband and her dog. She has lived in three different countries and hopes to live in many more!
Amy Buck Amy Buck Amy Buck is working towards her B.A. in Literature with a Philosophy minor. She believes that studying a piece of literature against a philosophical text not only enables a better understanding of both, but more importantly, prompts one to more fully evaluate one's views on morality, society, and the self. Though Amy is unable to work many hours in the Writing Center because she is also the student assistant in the English & Foreign Languages Department, she is particularly helpful with creative writing, literary analysis, brainstorming & drafting, and MLA format.
Emily Calkins
Emily Calkins is a junior studying history with a strong interest in ancient history. Having studied Spanish and some German, she appreciates how difficult it can be to master a foreign language and enjoys working with ESL students.
John-Michael Garner John-Michael Garner is a junior journalism major who, in addition to his duties at the Writing Center, serves as the sports editor for Augusta State's campus newspaper, The Bell Ringer. He is helpful in assisting with thesis statements and topic sentences, and he also enjoys brainstorming and discussing essay ideas with students.
Hunter Oellerich; Hunter Oellerich is pursuing a degree in English secondary education at Augusta State University. He has lived here in Augusta, Georgia his entire life. When not studying for his English classes he is reading novels, short stories, and comic books. His tutoring specialties are in MLA papers, creative writing, and any form of research paper for an English class.
Kelly Crenshaw; Kelly Crenshaw is an English major with a concentration in Creative Writing. She is currently a senior and excited for her last year at Augusta State University. When she is not studying, she enjoys reading British Literature, writing poetry, and running.
Roberto Franco; Roberto Franco discovered his love of languages and culture during his high school years, where he was enrolled in French and Japanese classes. Roberto is currently a French and Spanish Education dual major with a certification in English as a Second Language (ESL), president of the French Club, and secretary of the Spanish Club. He has also dabbled in American Sign Language (ASL) and Italian in the past, in which he wishes to continue his education in these languages to add into his bank of skills after graduation. Roberto is a big fan of traveling, but has only had the chance of visiting a few places in his lifetime (his current favorite being Japan); however, he does plan of visiting Europe and South America in the near future.
