Frequently Asked Questions
What makes Zeta so great anyway?
When asked this question, Zetas will
give a wide variety of answers. This is because it means so many things to
each one of us. Our sisterhood can't be defined by mere words, it can only be
seen by the bond of sisterhood we share. Those of us who joined ZTA were not
only looking for other women to relate to, but for true lifelong friendships.
Going away to college can be can be hard, but Zeta is our home away from home.
ZTA membership has given us so much! From sisterhood events and community
service to socials and formals, we have found friends whom we can call sisters
and a bond of sisterhood that will last a lifetime.
How is ZTA different from other sororities?
Zeta Tau Alpha is unique in that it is a women's Fraternity. This means that we
do not have a "brother" organization; our Founders believed women were strong
enough to stand alone. There are no stereotypical Zetas. Eta Mu is an eclectic
blend of women who each have many interests and activities outside the chapter.
However, this allows each individual sister to contribute a different quality to
our organization. Through Zeta, sisters make friends and form bonds that last a
lifetime.
How big is Zeta?
As a whole Zeta Tau Alpha is the third largest
Panhellenic sorority, with 236 collegiate chapters. There are ten chapters of
Zeta Tau Alpha in the state of Georgia! We even have international chapters!
Being in a large sisterhood gives women the opportunity to meet sisters wherever
their endeavors might take them. Individual chapter size varies from campus to
campus.
What are Zetas required to do?
Zeta is what you make of it, and if you're a Zeta we can guarantee you'll want
to participate in everything! Zeta is meant to give you more, not take things
away from you. Ultimately, it's up to you to determine your level of
participation.
How much does it cost?
Dues vary by semester, but they always include all national and local fees. The
Treasurer is more than happy to work with sisters to create individualized
payment plans if necessary.
