Augusta State University Department of Art 2500 Walton Way, Augusta GA. 30904-2200 brust@aug.edu (706)667-4888 office Brian Rust is a sculptor of large-scaled sculpture and temporary installations. He received a B.F.A. from the University of Washington, Seattle and an M.F.A. from the University of California, Berkeley. Brian first taught as a visiting lecturer at Wayne State University, Detroit and presently teaches sculpture and drawing as Full Professor at Augusta State University, Augusta Ga. Brian exhibits his sculpture and installation work throughout the United States including the Henry Lay Sculpture Park in Louisiana MO, the South Carolina Botanical Garden in Clemson SC; Stone Quarry Hill Art Park in Cazenovia NY; Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo MI; the University of Tennessee in Knoxville TN; and the Mid-Columbia Arts Center in Kennewick WA. He also completed a sculpture commission for the Atlanta University Center sponsored by the Corporation for Olympic Development in 1996. Other artistic activity includes participating in the Djerassi Resident Artist Program in Woodside CA, being a resident artist at the Hambidge Center in Rabun Gap GA and at the Connemara Nature Conservancy in Dallas TX.
