PHYLUM ANNELIDA
TO PREPARE: Thoroughly read over Lab 12 in your manual. Familiarize yourself
with the classification of the segmented worms.
IN LAB: Carefully study the display specimens. You will need to view Nereis
( the sandworm ) under a dissecting scope. Examine the head carefully and
locate the structures (all) as seen on p 189 of your lab manual. You will
need to remove a parapodium from the sandworm and prepare a slide of it to view
under your scope. You should dissect an earthworm. Locate and
learn the major organs on p 193. Note the figures of the setae on p 195.
