Research statement:

My primary research area is the analysis of seismic waves in the Earth.  This rather broad statement can be subdivided into two main areas of interest: 1) inverting seismic waves for Earth properties, and 2) signal detection and analysis.

In addition to seismology projects, I maintain an active undergraduate research program in geology, geophysics, and physics.  In the past, I was involved with geologic mapping portions of the Dog Canyon area of Big Bend National Park in deep west Texas and geophysical investigations of potential Basin and Range faults adjacent to the South Persimmon Gap Laccolith, also in Big Bend.  Currently, undergraduates are helping me collect and analyze seismic signals.
