Dr. Datta Named Anacapa Scholar
Dr. Trinanjan Datta, Assistant Professor of Physics, has just been named an Anacapa Scholar by the Anacapa Society, a professional organization based at Amherst College that promotes research in all areas of theoretical and computational physics at primarily undergraduate institutions (PUIs). As an Anacapa Scholar, Dr. Datta has the opportunity to work with PUIs throughout the nation to promote and develop new research programs in physics. “I am honored to have received this award,” Dr. Datta said. “I look forward to working with these universities as we look for ways to give students more opportunities to expand their knowledge of physics.” In addition to being involved in the development of new student programs, Anacapa Scholars also have opportunities for networking, mentoring and research collaboration with other theoretical and computational physicists around the country.
