"Surrealistic Pillow" from 1967 moved the Jefferson Airplane into the limelight and made their lead
singer, Gracie Slick, the first truly big name, female rock star. In 1967 the album rose to #3 on the
Rock Album charts, and by the end of that year the album had produced their only two hit singles,
"Somebody to Love" and "white Rabbit".
