Augusta, Ga. Architecture
Bell tower built on Broad St. in 1860. Known as “Big Steve”, it was used in the late 1800s as a fire lookout tower. A lookout was stationed in the compartment at the top to call out the volunteer fire fighters if a fire was spotted.
