Footage includes scenes of the protestors assembling at the Augusta Richmond County Municipal Building, scenes of peace-keeping personal and scenes of destroyed buildings. There is audio of James Brown discussing the cause of the riot accompanied by a still photograph. |

| 2.7: Administrative / Biographical History: | This copy of the footage was donated by an arrangement with the Museum of Augusta History in November 2006. The Museum displays this video in the context of a permanent exhibit. The original video tape is no longer available. The May 11, 1970 riot was sparked by the death of Charles Oatman while he was in custody in the Augusta Richmond County jail. |
