| 2.7: Administrative / Biographical History: | Material was donated to Augusta-Richmond County Historical Society/Reese Library Special Collections by the estate of Glover Bailie Sr. Deceased May 8, 1978, Glover Bailie was a native of Augusta Georgia and lived in Augusta for the majority of his life. He was a graduate of the Academy of Richmond County and saw service in the Mexican Conflict and World War I. In his working life, he was a district manager for the Georgia & Florida Railroad. His civic life included the following; a member and vestryman of Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church, a founder and post commander of Louis L. Battey American Legion Post no. 4, member of the Kiwanis Club, a member of Forty and Eight, a member of the Last Man’s Club, and Troop K Richmond Hussars and a president of the Henry Bible Class of St. John United Methodist Church. |
