The Raiders.
| The 22-foot Transportable Port Seurity Boat (TPSB) was the mainstay of port security work during Desert Storm. The Coast Guard, as is has done in past wars, showed its expertise in small craft operations throughout the war. The 22-foot Boston Whaler built by Whaler's Commerical Products Division for a special government contract begnnning 1989. The photos were taken at the Port of Damman in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, 1991. | |

The coxswain was BMC Michael Raggio, USCGR (of Tacoma, Wash.); MK1 Thomas Chatfield, USCGR, (of Eaton, Ohio) was the boat engineer. With them was a small craft qualified Army NCO who was assigned to the local Navy Mobile Inshore Undersea Warfare Unit (MIUWU). |
