83-Foot Coast Guard Patrol Boats at Normandy.
Jack said this was the poster that got him to enlist in the Coast Guard. Although, the patrol boat depicted is a 80-footer and not an 83-footer, the effect was the same. It called young men to serve.

A rare copy of a message directing the 83415, 83416, 83417, 83464, 83465 to proceed to Norfolk, Va., assembly point. There was no indication of assemby for what purpose.

The Normandy Invasion produced thousands heroes. Some were recognized and most not. CPO Jack Read wrote a letter to an English paper discribing the actions of one of those unknown heroes. Jack's Letter.
