Professor of Military Science

     Lieutenant Colonel William K. Cantrell received a commission in the Field Artillery upon graduation from Berry College in 1986. He holds a Masters of Arts degree in Management from Webster University at St Louis in 1989 and is a graduate of the Field Artillery Officer Basic, the Field Artillery Officer Advance Course, and the Command and General Staff College Course.

     In 2001 he took the position of Leadership Enrollment Officer at Augusta State University's ROTC Department. Following his time teaching cadets he deployed to Iraq where he was the Headquarters Commandant for Multi-National Security-Iraq Command (MNSTC-I) Duties after his tour in Iraq included two years working in the Pentagon as a Desk Officer in the Army Operations Center and in the newly created Electronic Warfare Division. He followed this assignment with one as the 3rd Infantry Division Electronic Warfare Officer and an additional tour to Iraq.

Senior Military Science Instructor

     MSG Michel is currently the Senior Military Instructor at Augusta State University's Military Science department. He entered the U. S. Army on 14 April 1992. His primary MOS is 13B1O, Cannon Crew Member. MSG Michel's military schools include, but are not limited to: Primary Leadership Development Course (Honor Graduate), Basic Noncommissioned Officers Course (Distinguished Honor Graduate), Advanced Noncommissioned Officers Course. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), the Gold Recruiter Badge, the Gold Recruiter Ring, the Drill Sergeant Badge, the Master Parachutist Badge, the German Parachutist Badge, and the Air Assault Badge, and the Bronze Star Medal.

MSG Michel holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Technology Management and a Masters of Science Degree in Information Technology Management from Touro University. He is married to Kets and they have two children, Kevin and Deeandra.

     CPT Pedro J. Rivera is the Assistant Professor of Military Science at Augusta State University. He is an Armor Officer who recently served as the Company Commander of C Company, 1st Combined Arms Battalion, 67th Armor Regiment, 2BCT 4th ID. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources Education from the University of Louisville. His most recent military school is the Aviation Captain Career Course.

     CPT Rivera wears the Parachutist Badge, the Drill Sergeant Badge, and Combat Action Badge. He is happily married to Tania Rivera and the proud father of Abigail, Pedro, and Alexander.

Military Science Instructor

     SFC Edmondson entered the United States Army on 21 January 2001, attended One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort Knox, KY and graduated as a Cavalry Scout. SFC Edmondonson's duty assignments include: B Troop, 3rd Squadron 7th Cavalry Regiment at Ft. Stewart, GA; A Troop 5th Squadron 15th Cavalry Regiment at Ft. Knox, KY; B Troop, 3rd Squadron 4th Cavalry Regiment at Schofield Barracks, HI; B Troop, 5th Squadron 15th Cavalry Regiment at Ft. Knox, KY; A Troop, 2nd Squadron 38th Cavalry Regiment and currently serves at Georgia Regents University Military Science Department.

     SFC Edmondson has been on three combat deployments, two in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (Iraq 03 and 06-07) and one in support of Operation enduring Freedom (Afghanistan 11-12). He is an inductee into the Honorable Order of Saint George and has received numerous awards, which include but are not limited to: the Bronze Star Medal (1OLC), the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal (3 OLC), and the Army Achievement Medal (4 OLC). SFC Edmondson has also earned the Drill Sergeant Badge, Parachutist Badge and Combat Action Badge.

     SFC Edmondson is currently working on an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice, is happily married to his wife Cara and is the proud father of a daughter and a son.

     SFC James Sherrill began his military career in the Georgia Army National Guard in 1997. He has worked as a combat journalist, writing news stories and producing military photographs for a variety of state newspapers and for the Georgia Guardsman magazine. In support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, he helped run the Multi-National Force Iraq media embed team in Baghdad, Iraq. His team provided military news coverage of the war and escorted civilian reporters as they embedded with Army units. SFC Sherrill currently works as a recruiter for both the Georgia Army National Guard and the Augusta State University ROTC program.

Mr. Philander McDomick

Battalion Assistant S-3

     In 1986 Mr Philander McDomick enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves. While in the corps, he served with the 4th Landing Support Bn before being honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant in 2001. In 2003 Mr McDomick enlisted in the U.S. Army, applied for and was accepted to attend Officer Candidate School, and then finally earned his commission upon his graduation in 2006.

     Currently, he serves in the South Carolina National Guard as the Company XO with A Co. 151st ESB in Greenwood, SC. Mr. McDomick is a contracted employee here at Augusta State University and fills the roles of assistant S3 and assistant Professor. His theatre tours are Operation Desert Shield / Desert Storm (1990) & Afghanistan (2010-2011). Mr McDomick has a BS in Business from Charleston Southern University, and an MBA from Webster University. He is from Beaufort, SC, is married to Argeana, and has 4 children.

     Ms. Beverley Bailey-Fulton has been the Human Resources Assistant (HRA) at Augusta State University (ASU) since July 2005. She has been a HRA in U.S. Army Cadet Command since July 1990.

     Ms. Bailey-Fulton has earned several Civilian Employee Awards to include the Commander's Award for Civilian Service. She is a 2005 U.S. Army Cadet Command Human Resources Assistant of the Year Nominee.

     Ms. Bailey-Fulton is married and has two children and three grandchildren.

     Mr. Richey has been the Logistics Technician at Augusta State University (ASU) ROTC since October 2010. He retired from the U.S. Army after 22 years of service on 1 September 2007 as a First Sergeant.

     Mr. Richey's served his last military assignment as the Senior Military Instructor (SMI) for ASU ROTC. He has earned several awards to the Meritorious Service Medal with three oak leafs and the Army Commendation Medal with six oak leafs. Mr. Richey is married; he has two children and resides in Evans, GA.

Senior Administrative Assistant

     Mrs. Norma S. Combs, a Washington, GA native, moved to Augusta after completing Greenleaf College in Atlanta, GA. She began her career at Fort Gordon, GA as a Military Personnel Records Clerk in the Officer Records Department. Her duties included maintaining the records of Second Lieutenants coming on Active Duty to attend the Signal Officer Basic Course.

     After ten years, Mrs. Norma transferred to work as the Management Assistant to the Provost Marshal where she spent the next eleven years. Her final role was spent as assistant to the Director of Community Activities before her retirement in 1997 from Fort Gordon, Georgia.

     Since retiring from Ft Gordon, GA she has become employed at Augusta State University as the Senior Administrative Assistant to the Professor of Military Science. Mrs. Combs has two children, Krista, who is completing her doctorate in Nursing and Todd Combs. In her spare time she loves to travel and attend concerts.
