Weekly focus questions:
During weeks 2- 8 of the semester, students will meet with their assigned
team members during planning or other appropriate times. The purpose of
these meetings is two-fold: First, students will come with a focus question
to think and write about related to how their team plans and functions
as an interdisciplinary team. They will also use this time to communicate
expectations and plans for their involvement in teaching the interdisciplinary
unit during the five-week intense lab period.
Planning and teaching an interdisciplinary unit:
Students will work with their team during the five-week lab component
to collaboratively plan and teach an interdisciplinary or integrated unit.
They will be actively involved in teaching throughout these weeks.
Students will turn in a written overview of the unit, at least three
lesson plans they have written and taught and an evaluation of how their
lessons and the overall unit meet students’ needs, resulted in student
learning and reflected effective teaming practices.
