(1) Research on Adolescent
Needs
(a) View Managing
the Disruptive Classroom and respond to these focus questions:
Why are classrooms more disruptive today?
What are the characteristics of disruptive behavior?
How do some learning environments encourage disruptive behavior?
Describe successful interventions for managing disruptive behavior?
(b) Review in media
services two videos on adolescents in the classroom.
Design a video review sheet and use
it for critical analysis
(c) Generate questions
for a videotaped interview with adolescents in your neighborhood. Present
video to class.
(d) Develop a list
of adolescent developmental characteristics in the following five areas:
cognitive, emotional, physical, social, and character.
(2) Group Project-
Develop a Model of Middle School Organization including:

(3) Field Experience
Focus on teaching skills/ how decisions are made
