| Introduction |
Within our interviews, we found that many teachers see students actively participating in classroom management and hands-on activities as a disruption. Other teachers saw active learning and participation in classroom management as a positive experience for both the student and the teacher. In our observations, we found that the teacher-student relationships seemed closer when students were actively involved in the learning process. We found that students wanted more hands-on and group activities as well as more "say-so" as to what goes on in the classroom.
