We know him as Ed Roberts - baritone in our Chancel Choir, cashier at virtually every book sale, former chair of Worship and Music who is always there to help those currently supporting our worship services.

Elsewhere, "our Ed Roberts" is known as the author of Literature: An Introduction to Reading and Writing, a respected text published by Prentice-Hall, Inc., a Pearson Company, now available in its eighth edition (and available also in a third compact edition).

Edgar V. Roberts is a summa cum laude B.A. graduate of the University of Minnesota, where he also earned his M.A. and Ph.D. Accomplished editor and author of many English texts, including Writing About Literature (formerly, Writing Themes About Literature), Tenth Edition (Prentice Hall, 2003), Dr. Roberts has spent forty years in classroom teaching. He has been a member of the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) and the Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC), in addition to the Modern Language Association (MLA) and the Society for Theatre Research (London).
