1. In and around the "Garden City," one finds plenty of water and vegetation. A few photographs from Phinizy Swamp.

2. This was one of the first outings for my 8 mpix camera. For close-up focus, it has a magnifying glass built into the viewing screen. Here, the bottom ant is in focus, while the others are out-of-focus.

3. An unusual color for the swamp creek.

4. This fellow had better change his color quickly, or else he (she?) will be somebody's meal before too long.

5. I put an extension tube on the camera to create this picture.

6. All kinds of life ...

7. Profusion of plant life.

8. Along the Savannah river ...

9. Moss.

10. I enlarged this evening shot to 2x3 feet, poster size.

11. A close-up of pampa (?) grass.

12. Some river shoals.

13. The unusual blue color of the river is due to my fiddling around with the camera settings - but I like the contrasting brown and blue.

14. A serene evening scene at the river.

15. Around the home ... a speckle of afternoon light.

16. A denizen of the city adorned with the day's adventures.

17. Backyard shed.

18. Rosebush.

19. Gras.

20. Rose.

21. Bush berries.

22. Along the Augusta canal ...

23. Quite a mop of "hair" on this "head."

24. The canal.

25. My guess ... turbines for hydropower.

26. Plant life along the canal.

27. Wild berries (daylight shot with flash to block out the background).

28. Still water.

29. Another study in green.

30. Along Clarks Hill lake ...

31. Life springs eternal.

32. Yep, a daylight shot ...

33. ... and another one.

34. ... but this one's the moon.

35. Back to the lake.

36. Erosion.

37. I like the contrast of this and the next photograph. Both are afternoon pictures taken within minutes of each other - but with different camera settings.

38.

39. Later in the afternoon.

40. Erosion.

41. Hope this tree won't fall while I shoot up at it.

42. Sun setting.

43. ... and setting some more.

44.

45.

46. Sun's almost down.

47. Sun's almost down.

48. Inviting triplet.

49. Augusta is world famous for golf. But it also hosts the headquarters of the Professional Disk Golf Assocation which this year held its world championship in town.

50. A competitor sets up a shot along Lake Olmstead.

51. Ken Climo, 11-time world champion. Will he win again? (Note the white disk just off to the right of the basket.)

52. Leaderboard.

53. Yep. Now 12-time champion!

54. Somewhere between Washington and Columbia roads a swampy tributary to Clarks Hill Lake.

55.

56.

57. Nightlife.

58. Awfully quiet here.

59. The marina at night.

60. One of my favorite photographs.
